You have a hybrid if it has both electric/battery power and a downsized internal combustion engine that can take over without sufficient electrical charge. Maintenance Depends on What You Own

The specific types of maintenance services you need depend on what you own. That said, some preventive services are common across all vehicles regardless of how they’re powered. For instance, tire care is important. You’ll want to ensure you operate with the correct tire inflation (psi). Also, monitoring tread wear and obtaining related services such as rotation, balancing, and period wheel alignments are crucial. Because all automobiles have a built-in cooling mechanism, you’ll need to have that system maintained, too. Other considerations–whether needed more or less frequently–are AC service, brake work, and cabin air filter changes. The majority of a fully electric vehicle’s maintenance is battery related. Make sure you charge according to instructions and let us help you with any other battery maintenance tasks. If you choose a hybrid, you’ll need some services for both types of power plant. In addition to maintaining the battery pack(s), you’ll need to take care of the smaller internal combustion engine. This means you’ll still need all the same basic services as you would for a larger motor, but perhaps you’ll need them less frequently since the engine operates less. For example, you must still change the oil and filter, replace spark plugs, etc.
